What a year 2016 was for us, it didn’t quite go as smoothly as I thought, I won’t go into the whys and wherefores…but needless to say, it took us most of the year to get back on our feet, and thankfully all was okay for Christmas.
So, I began to ask myself what I wanted to achieve from my little part time ‘craft’ business/hobby. After a period of ill health, the creative bug started biting again just before Christmas and I worked my little socks off crafting bits and bobs for the festive period…in amongst the lavender hearts and hand stamped pieces, I also made some more original bits from my own sketches and ideas…here is a pre-Christmas photo of my Vintage Pop Up Suitcase Shop!
I think another reason I’ve been a bit terrified is the ‘what if no one likes it/wants to buy it’ element…but then I realised, had a mini epiphany if you like, that thinking like that was really holding me back…and also, it doesn’t matter if you don’t sell everything, that’s not what creating is always about (of course, it’s the best in the world when someone likes your work and asks to buy though!)…and so, I’ve found my path diverted from sewing somewhat for the moment and have revisited a previous love of printing…here are some of the prints I’ve been working on.
So goals for this year? Small steps…my first giveaway on my Facebook page soon https://m.facebook.com/Brambleandgoose/, create a website…maybe 😳, keep on creating, stop being such a big overthinker! Allow myself to get carried away with ideas…even if it doesn’t work out! Show my work somewhere…and that’s it!
Keep the small dreams going and the big dreams will happen 💕💕
